The Roanoke Bar Association presented a new public education program entitled You and the Law in March 2010 and again in March 2011. This program was designed to educate the public about the legal system in order to make citizens' interaction with the system more efficient and less frustrating.

You and the Law covers basic information relating to practices and procedures in the general district courts and the circuit courts, issues where there may be misunderstanding or a lack of understanding, and substantive information relating to specific areas of the law.  Guest speakers include judges and local attorneys who specialize in each of the topics covered.

Upcoming Sessions:  Our plans are to make You and the Law available on an annual basis.  As soon as sessions are scheduled, they will be posted on this web site.
